The hummingbirds are back Summer must be just around the corner. (Although with our Michigan temperatures in the 50’s, it sure seems like a long way off!)
We love watching these little guys. Always thought that their beaks must have a sort of straw in them that sucked up their food. But it turns out they have a longish forked tongue that actually traps the nectar. New research with high-speed cameras shows hummer tongues in action.
