“Tin foil hat” has become contemporary code to describe anyone who imagines a
conspiracy – or possibly aliens – behind any occurrence that’s the least bit
difficult to explain. In “Signs,” the 2002 sci-fi thriller, Mel Gibson’s children
believed the caps would prevent aliens from reading their minds.
The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!
“Obama’s DHS Requests 15,000 Russian Troops”
This rumor was floating around the web a couple weeks ago and because the sources weren’t just the usual conspiracy-around-every-corner sites, Robert Stacy McCain at The Other McCain blog decided to dig a little deeper; FEMA’s Russia ‘Protocols’ Raise Serious Questions*. Turns out there definitely, may or may not be, either something very suspicious – or not….
In other words, it’s yet another one of those stories we keep hearing about that initially sound totally implausible (because after all this is still America isn’t it?) but- given the Orwellian nature of Washington D.C. these days – turn out to be mostly true.
Stories like, oh… the IRS targeting conservatives, the feds allowing weapons into Mexico that end up being used to murder Americans, Obama & Co. doing nothing when our Libyan ambassador was being attacked, DOJ promoting INjustice, the NSA spying on Americans…
The truth is; the Obama administration, and the Left in general, are so ruthlessly focused on advancing their progressive agenda – transforming America into a place that most of us would no longer recognize – that any means to an end is acceptable, even bold-faced lies. Or maybe, especially bold-faced lies.
It’s extremely unsettling to have paranoid feelings about your own government. But that, I’m starting to believe, is exactly where they want us.
By the way, in “Signs” there really were aliens.

*There are just enough scattered facts to make the Russian story plausible. Throw Janet Napolitano’s sudden departure from NHS (kinda like a rat jumping ship?) into the mix, and it suddenly becomes even more credible.
