Anytime that political power is centralized there will always be a susceptibility to kickbacks and favoritism. And history shows us that Washington D.C. is certainly no exception to that phenomenon. But cronyism is now rampant in the federal government as the Obama administration continues to breach the public trust with total aplomb.
From OneNewsNow:
An independent watchdog group has found that nearly 200 of President Barack Obama’s top fundraisers have won political appointments to government posts, obtained federal contracts for their business interests or been invited to exclusive White House events.
The Center for Public Integrity reported Wednesday that Obama supporters who raised $50,000 during his 2008 presidential campaign have been tapped for ambassadorships, government jobs or unpaid advisory positions. The report also said that at least 19 fundraisers are connected to businesses that could benefit from government spending programs.

The article (by Fred Schulte, John Aloysius Farrell and Jeremy Borden) reminds us of “Mr. Transparent’s” campaign promises:
In kicking off his presidential run on Feb. 10, 2007, he blasted “the cynics, the lobbyists, the special interests,” who he said had “turned our government into a game only they can afford to play.”
“They write the checks and you get stuck with the bill, they get the access while you get to write a letter, they think they own this government, but we’re here today to take it back,” he said.
So in case we weren’t sure before, it’s clear that we now have a government – of the crooks, by the cronies, for the chumps.
