~ UPDATE on the Brynn Williams Case from Advocates for Faith & Freedom ~
In all honesty, it’s hard to tell whether or not all the furor was justified in this case. The school district is still holding hearings in the matter ~
“… we have always held that this is not about the principal or the teacher. Our claim is and always has been that the principal and teacher were enforcing practices and policies of the District as they were required to do.”

It was just one small skirmish in the annual War on Christmas, but it was a big deal to one little girl ~
First-grader told to stop talking about Bible [Todd Starnes/Fox News] ~
The parents of a 6-year-old girl said their daughter was humiliated when a teacher interrupted the child’s one-minute speech and told her to sit down because she’s “not allowed to talk about the Bible in school,” attorneys for the California family allege.
Young Brynn’s class assignment was to find an item at home that represented her family’s Christmas traditions and share it with the class. The next day, her presentation was abruptly cut short ~
“Our Christmas tradition is to put a star on top of our tree,” the little girl said. “The star is named the Star of Bethlehem. The three kings followed the star to find baby Jesus, the Savior of the world.”
Before (Brynn) could utter another word, the teacher intervened, according to Robert Tyler, the general counsel for Advocates for Faith & Freedom – the law firm representing the Williams family.
“Brynn’s teacher said, ‘Stop right there! Go take your seat,’” Tyler said. “Brynn was not allowed to finish her presentation by reciting the Bible verse, John 3:16.”
This happened in California which – considering this is the Magical Land of Fruits & Nuts we’re talking about – isn’t all that surprising. HOWEVER — there is one religion that California public school students are actually required to talk about as part of the curriculum – the preferred faith of Muslim terrorists: Islam.
In fact for the last ten years or so, the Religion of Peace has been actively pushed by educators in that state. This is from World Net Daily in 2003 ~
Requiring seventh-grade students to pretend they’re Muslims, wear Islamic garb, memorize verses from the Quran, pray to Allah and even to play “jihad games” in California public schools has been legally upheld by a federal judge, who has dismissed a highly publicized lawsuit brought by several Christian students and their parents.
[But a first-grader talking about the Star of Bethlehem is illegal?!]
Since the above excerpt was published, the propaganda has spread eastward. Here’s an excellent, well-documented and linked re-cap of the religious indoctrination now going on throughout the entire country (as well as in the UK and Canada) from BareNakedIslam: Have your schools been indoctrinated with whitewashed Islamic propaganda yet? This article is from May 2012, but we can only assume things have gotten worse since then.
Little Brynn wasn’t allowed to recite John 3:16 in her first grade class, but I can still quote it here. So I will ~
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
~ John 3:16 ~

You need to know that the teacher and principal in the case you have promoted above (Brynn/first grader) have issued statements that totally contradict this account. Statements that are believable, unwavering and very reasonable. My grandson is in the same 1st grade classroom/the teacher is a good, kind teacher -not anything like the impression you have promoted above. As a conservative I am extremely disappointed to witness conservative media so anxious to push an agenda that they would hurt the reputations of innocent people to further that agenda. I expected conservatives and certainly Christians to endeavor to get to the truth and not accept a press release from a lawyer as fact. You have contributed to a media frenzy that has hurt a good principal a good teacher young families and a very, good school. Please publish the other side or remove this very misleading story from your site. Thank you
Thank you for your emails and for letting me know about the other side of this issue.
I certainly don’t want to be a party to spreading falsehoods. But perhaps so many conservatives/Christians were too quick to jump on this story because we feel constantly on the defensive in a country that used to be “one nation under God” yet now seems to reject Him at every turn. In a (California) school system that has gone out of its way to educate (indoctrinate?) children about the virtues of Islam the idea of a first grader not being allowed to mention “Jesus” certainly seems plausible.
As I’m sure you noticed, this selective religious intolerance was the general theme of my post; (the blog’s name isn’t coincidental).
Again, I do appreciate the input. I’ll keep tabs on this story, anticipating a fair resolution for all involved.
