Unfortunately, this week finds the Secretary of State firmly back in his reality-free zone, proclaiming “The Real Face of Islam is a Peaceful Religion” ~

One day after the Islamic State in Iraq and al Sham (ISIS) released a video showing the brutal beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff–the second American journalist ISIS has decapitated on video–Secretary of State John Kerry gave a speech saying that Islam is a “peaceful religion based on the dignity of all human beings,” and that ISIS is not “the real face of Islam.”

In the real world there are no “moderate” Muslims. If there were, wouldn’t we be hearing from them now, trying to distance themselves from these 14th century barbarians rampaging through the middle east? Instead, we get Kerry, Obama, and David Cameron in Great Britain, as the new surrogate moderate voices.
 
The reality that our feckless leaders seem determined to avoid is that Muhammad’s commands to his followers are foundational to Islam. There’s no getting around the prophet’s dictates if you’re a Muslim, as David Wood at Answering Muslims so effectively explains ~

The Islamic State (ISIS) recently released a video of dozens of Yazidis converting to Islam in order to avoid execution. Our leaders and the media continue to assure us that the actions of ISIS have nothing to do with Islam. Yet when we open the Muslim sources, we find Muhammad commanding his followers to fight people until they convert to Islam. How can obeying Muhammad’s commands have nothing to do with Islam?

And lest we imagine for a second the O’Ministration intends to get serious about any internal threats we face from the Islamists, Mr. Kerry disabuses us of that mistaken idea ~

“America’s faith communities, including American Muslims, are sources of strength for all of us. 😯 They’re an essential part of our national fabric, 😯 and we are committed to deepening our partnerships with them,” Kerry added.

 
Even worse ~

Kerry also highlighted the State Department’s “mission” to “unite religious communities,” explaining that “it’s a delusion to think that anyone can just retreat to their own safe space.” […]
 
“The reality is that our faiths and our fates are inextricably linked. And that is profoundly why we must do this now, because they are linked.”

Translation: the Muslim Brotherhood is now firmly embedded (inextricably linked) in the Obama Administration. And it’s a delusion to think otherwise.
 
Insanity. Even Neville Chamberlain didn’t engage in such civilization-ending rhetoric when appeasing the Nazis.
