Slobbered over for years by adoring fans, some celebrities just can’t help but develop god-complexes. Which of course explains why so many of them (Sean Penn, Bono, Oprah, Bill Gates) feel the need to insert themselves into global affairs. We should be so very grateful that they deign to assist we mere mortals with our various struggles and challenges.
Seriously, this is not to disparage the many in the social elite set who do do enormous amounts of good for humanitarian causes. Rather, to point out the superior attitudes of celebs like Bill Gates, and George Clooney, who somehow feel the world is in such dire need of their infinite wisdom that they must step up and help set things right.
Cloony’s latest endeavor has him offering assistance to Germany with their, um, little refugee problem ~
There was a time when Hollywood’s top tier talent would work in the cause of Americanism and freedom. John Ford, George Stevens, John Huston, William Wyler and Frank Capra all did film work advancing America’s interests in the fight against oppression, suppression and totalitarianism.
That was then. Now we have a Hollywood that works to undermine freedom and individual rights. The low state of film is a reflection of the morally depraved clowns making them. George Clooney wants to help German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the Muslim invasion…
Which naturally has the astute Daniel Greenfield wondering, How Many Syrians Can George Clooney Fit On His 5 Acre Estate? ~
… if George Clooney really wants to know what he can do, let’s start with his 5 acre estate in the UK. Working people in Germany have been kicked out of their homes to make room for Muslim refugees. Why not take over one of the estates of the rich and famous humanitarians instead?
Yes, George is quite moved with the plight of the Muslim refugees (Funny, all the mainstream media sites are still incorrectly referring to them as “Syrian” refugees. They’re apparently in denial too.) – never mind the average German citizens who feel themselves under siege. But don’t question the actor’s methods or motivations, he’s liable to get rather testy ~
Clooney lost a bit of his famous cool at a Berlin Film Festival press conference Thursday when a reporter asked what else he’s been doing, beyond making movies, to ease the ongoing refugee crisis.
“I spend a lot of time working on these things, and it’s an odd thing to have someone stand up and say, ‘What do you do?’ That’s fine, knock yourself out,” a peeved Clooney snapped, according to media reports. “I have gone to places that are very dangerous and I work a lot on these things.”
Oh. Well OK then.
