I mentioned this story in Saturday Shorts, but felt it deserved a bit more attention since it’s not really being discussed much elsewhere.
Apparently socialism isn’t radical enough for the Democrat party in Jackson, Mississippi – they’re going full commie, as Trevor Loudon reports on his New Zeal blog ~ Communists propel Chokwe Antar Lumumba towards Jackson Mississippi mayoralty ~
American Maoists’ plans to transform the Deep South got a major boost on May 2, when Chokwe Antar Lumumba won the Democratic primary in the Jackson Mississippi mayoralty with 55% of the vote.
Lumumba owes his candidacy to the “Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO/OSCL),” the same group that helped propel his father to Jackson’s mayoral seat back in 2013. Dad died in 2014 and now junior is set to carry on his radical legacy.
FRSO/OSCL self-identifies as Maoist (Marxist-Leninist offshoot), just another unsavory flavor of soul-sucking totalitarianism ~
Freedom Road will use the capture of Jackson to spread revolutionary ideas through the Southern Black Belt. They will use the city’s money to pay themselves salaries as full time revolutionaries.
Maoist revolutionary strategy emphasizes setting up alternative governments to those already in existence. These pseudo states give the revolutionaries legitimacy and provide resources and money to spread insurrection through the surrounding countryside.
Jackson’s mayoral election is set for June 6th. According to Loudon, Lumumba is a shoe-in.
The question is, why in the world does Jackson want to be the next Venezuela? Do they really want an authoritarian government to own and run everything, and the people nothing? Is the thought of equal misery for all (and eating the family pet to keep from starving) really that attractive?
Or maybe they’re just clueless. It could just be that Mississippi public schools (and to be fair, most U.S. public schools for the last 50 years) failed to teach the blood-soaked history of godless communism ~
