These “Catholic” universities should stop pretending

Recently TFP Student Action, a national proactive network of Catholics, wanted to find out if several Catholic colleges actually still believed in God’s design for male and female relationships; that is, marriage as instituted by our Creator.

They placed several pro-traditional marriage signs at five Catholic colleges: Loyola University Maryland, Georgetown University, Notre Dame of Maryland University, Villanova University and St. Joseph’s University. What they discovered wasn’t really unexpected – just very disappointing ~

How long does a pro-traditional marriage sign last on Catholic campuses?
About 5 minutes.

“Just the sight of the name of God and God’s plan for marriage is considered intolerable by students who think tolerance is a dogma.” ~ 23-year-old Matthew Miller, TFP volunteer

If these universities no longer believe in the transcendent truth of the Scriptures, why keep up the pretense?

Why are Catholic universities and colleges throwing off their Catholic identity? Are Catholic institutions of higher learning even Catholic anymore? If not, why are Catholics still supporting them? Why don’t we abandon the status-symbol “Catholic” colleges and sign up with the actual Catholic colleges such as Christendom, TAC, Ave Maria and Franciscan?
