So the fabulist, Ben Rhodes, President Obama’s former advisor, is releasing his memoirs next week; “The World as It Is.” (Quite an ironic title considering the man admits to deliberately deceiving Americans about the Iranian nuclear deal. He should have called it “The World as Ben Rhodes Sees It” – since that particular view bears little resemblance to reality.) ~
Set to be published next week by Random House, Mr. Rhodes’s memoir, “The World as It Is,” offers a peek into Mr. Obama’s tightly sealed inner sanctum from the perspective of one of the few people who saw him up close through all eight years of his presidency. Few moments shook Mr. Obama more than the decision by voters to replace him with a candidate who had questioned his very birth.
Shortly after the election Rhodes describes the former president struggling to understand Trump’s victory ~
He had read a column asserting that liberals had forgotten how important identity was to people and had promoted an empty cosmopolitan globalism that made many feel left behind. “Maybe we pushed too far,” Mr. Obama said. “Maybe people just want to fall back into their tribe.”
Said the man who said and did everything he could to divide Americans in every which way possible! Lets count the “tribes” he helped form during eight long years ~
• The Occupy Tribe
• The Black-Lives-Matter Tribe
• The LGBTQ Tribe
• The Pussy Hat Tribe
• The anti-American NFL Kneeler Tribe
Seriously? “Tribes?” (Barry’s Kenyan heritage coming out?) There haven’t been “tribes” in America since the Native American ones (who incidentally spent a lot of time warring with one another).
However imperfect we may be, since our founding, America has been united in shared beliefs as stated in the Declaration of Independence ~
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
American “nationalism” – such as it is – is not social, racial or ethnic, it is ideological. That is, based on ideas that transcend those superficial qualities. Our commonality is that we all embrace – or used to embrace – those timeless principles.

Obama’s idea of post-tribalism was Black Lives Matter, relentless identity politics and defending a racist.
When you pal around with Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton, you don’t get to lecture anyone else on racism.
I’m not sure what their motive is, but since we’re not really allowed to discuss the importance of values and personal choices over skin color, I don’t think the Left will ever let America move beyond racism. We seem to have lost our last best chance in the 70’s…
