As we’ve known all along, Donald Trump is hardly a career politician, much less a career diplomat. What he is is an enormously successful negotiator who’s created a real estate empire worth billions. So he’s no fool. And he’s no Russian sympathizer. The president may misstep and misspeak – and he’s probably misread the wily ex-KGB chief – but he’s hardly on the verge of precipitating World War III. And yet, if you listen to the progressive news media, that’s exactly where we’re headed.
 
Not only are the mainstreams engaging in outrageous hyperbole, their selective memory loss is astounding. They should have been watching Hannity’s show on Fox last night. Mark Levin did an excellent job of putting Trump’s Helsinki meeting with Putin in perspective with previous presidents’ dealings with the Russians ~
 

• At Yalta, after WWII, FDR sold out half of Europe to Stalin! (Not to mention his Japanese interment camps)
• After JFK met with Nikita Khrushchev in 1961 he admitted to being played by the Soviet premier. Shortly after their meeting the Berlin wall went up, missiles were shipped to Cuba, and the Cold War was launched
• In 1975 President Gerald Ford, meeting with Leonid Brezhnev in Helsinki, formally recognized the Soviet Union’s territorial sovereignty over the Eastern Bloc nations
• In 1979, “Jimmy Carter planted a big wet kiss on Brezhnev’s cheek in Vienna”

 
Furthermore, Barack Hussein Obama did NOTHING to curtail Russian ambitions while he was president ~
 

• There was no pushback when the Russians invaded Georgia
• There was no pushback when they annexed Crimea
• There was no pushback when they invaded eastern Ukraine
• Obama (breaking a treaty) betrayed Poland and the Czech Republic – and Ukraine – by removing U.S. missile defense systems
• Russian election “meddling” took place under BHO – he did nothing to stop it

 
On the other hand, President Trump (he of the Russian collusion) has ~
 

• Expanded sanctions on Russian companies and apparatchiks
• Expanded and beefed-up NATO
• Restored missile defense systems to Poland and the Czech Republic
• Returned heavy-armored divisions to Germany
• Pre-positioned armed brigades in the Baltic states
• Ended arms embargos on Ukraine and Georgia that Obama had imposed

 
The Left loves the Russians (Hillary was so enamored she let them have our uranium!). So the mainstream media’s outrage over Trump’s latest faux pas is a pathetic joke. It’s just more agitprop to fire up the low-information crowd.

I haven’t been paying much attention to Russia and Vladimir Putin the past few years. After all, once President Obama laughed off the notion that Russia was a threat to the U.S. during the 2012 debate, I figured, no need to worry about it. When he assured us there was no way for Russia or anybody else to affect the 2016 election, I assumed all was well.
 
I also figured, if Obama and Hillary are cool with giving the guy 20% of our uranium and control of Kazakhstan’s vast supply, all while he’s still helping build Iran’s nuclear program, gosh-darn-golly, that’s good enough for me!
