Masterpiece epilogue

Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop recently expressed his relief and gratitude upon the welcome resolution of his Supreme Court case ~

To everyone who supported me, prayed for me, and came alongside to help me—thank you. I know that this Supreme Court victory would not have been possible without you.

I’m profoundly thankful that the Court saw the injustice that the government inflicted on me. This ruling means so much to my family, our shop, and people of all faiths who should not fear government hostility or unjust punishment. God is so good!

I’ve spent many years honing my craft as a cake artist, combining baking with my love of sculpting, painting, and sketching. I love my work because a cake is a canvas on which I express ideas, celebrate events, and bring joy to people’s lives. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to continue my work without worrying that the government will punish me because they don’t like my faith. I can’t really explain the relief that I feel. I just know I’m thrilled to start preparing to create wedding cakes again.

A lot of people have asked me the most important thing I’ve taken away from this six-year experience, and I can confidently say that the most important thing I’ve learned is God’s sovereignty. He orchestrates everything according to His time. If we are just patient and look back, we see that that’s always been the case.

I hope this truth resonates with you and encourages you as well. This fight was never just about my family—it’s about all of us. The challenges my family and I faced personally have been daunting, but we always knew that our stand was for everyone. This victory is for us all.

Thank you so much, and God bless you.

Jack
