In yesterday’s UK Telegraph, Mike Smithson, editor of PoliticalBetting.com, analyzed the price per vote for the Republican primary candidates thus far:

One estimate is that for each vote cast the entire Romney campaign, including the bodies that support him, have spent $17.14. In comparison, the figure for Gingrich is $9.05, while Santorum has spent a miserly $2.54.
 
The remarkable thing is how far Santorum has come with so little.

 
And how much Romney has had to spend to get and keep his lead…$17.14/vote. Wow!
