Usurper-in-Chief Strikes Again!

Update: Various senators and congressmen weigh in on the emperor’s latest edict ~ Immigration shift sparks reaction from both sides.
Grateful that Sen. Jim DeMint is on the right side as usual:

“We have debated this same type of amnesty numerous times in the last decade, and each time the American people rejected it and demanded border security and a better legal immigration system. The President’s actions trample on the rule of law and remind voters of why he should be defeated in November.”

Shamnesty??!! 😯

The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

Is President Obama a fool? A liar? Or just an outrageously arrogant tyrant?!

Unbelievable. Especially when you consider that just fifteen short months ago (March 2011) he was answering questions from students about deportations of young, school-age illegal immigrants, saying that immigration laws were passed by Congress and that only the judiciary could interpret them: [Thanks to CNS News for pulling this out of the archives so fast!]

“America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law. I don’t have a choice about that. That’s part of my job,” Obama said in March 2011 at a town hall event hosted by the Spanish-language television network Univision.

“Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws,” he said.

June 15, 2012: “Just kidding!!!”

This line from the Declaration of Independence suddenly seems awfully appropriate:

“A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”
