Dems setting the stage for a woman atop their 2016 ticket

It’s been subtle – while at the same time annoyingly obvious – the Democrats are clearly warming up their drone-like followers, and other malleable malcontents, to the idea of a “Madame President” in 2016.

Emails? What emails?

hillary-yikesMrs. Clinton was priming the progressive pump just last week, as reported in the Guardian ~

Controversy over the use of private email as secretary of state is brushed aside in (Hillary’s) night of solidarity with progressive movement Emily’s List.

As for her long-deferred announcement about the 2016 presidential race, Clinton did no more than repeat old quips about the difficult question of whether to run for president, at one point asking: “I suppose it’s fair to say: don’t you someday want to see a woman president?”

Did you have anyone in particular in mind Hillary?

The phony “pay gap”

patriciaArquetteEarlier this month we had Patricia Arquette squawking about gender pay equity at the Oscars.

This myth has been debunked many times, but Thomas Sowell does so once again in his March 3rd article ~

Innumerable studies, going back for decades, have shown that women do not average as many hours of work per year as men, do not have as many consecutive years of full-time employment as men, do not work in the same mix of occupations as men and do not specialize in the same mix of subjects in college as men […]

If you trace the actual history of women in high-level careers, you will find that it bears no resemblance to the radical feminist fable, in which advances began with the “women’s liberation” movement in the 1960s and new anti-discrimination laws.

In reality, women were far better represented in professional occupations in the first three decades of the 20th century than in the middle of that century. Women received a larger share of the postgraduate degrees necessary for such careers in the earlier era than in the 1950s and 1960s.

But facts are irrelevant when the Left is on a mission.

The myth-making continues

janefondaAnother member of the sisterhood, Jane Fonda, has decided that ‘Patriarchy’ is Partly to Blame for Rise in Terrorism ~

Fonda will be appearing at the UN on March 12 to help the women’s rights group Equality Now launch a campaign asking government to combat gender discrimination. While Fonda thinks male dominance is one of the top issues in our modern world, she and her UN friends would make better use of their time helping to combat the terrorism she only briefly mentioned.

Gender Justice?

Last month Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg opined that the top court could use a few more females ~

(Ginsburg)has a lot to say about women in the legal profession, and revealed at Georgetown University this week how many women would be “enough” on the Supreme Court; “when there are nine.”

(Not sure if that was before or after the State of the Union address, when Ginsberg was admittedly a tad tipsy…)

UN-Women ~ HeForShe

Even the UN is latching onto the “gender equality” hype with their inane HeForShe campaign, a global solidarity movement to engage men and boys in “the struggle,” promoted by “Goodwill Ambassador” Emma Watson. (I’m sure that preventing atrocities like “Muslim Man Stabs Wife 15 Times for Wanting to Learn English . . . in Great Britain” will be one of their top priorities!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So from all indications, the Democrats’ strategy for 2016 is pretty clear; they’re actively pushing the I-am-woman-hear-me-roar meme. Much like they made race an issue in 2008, gender will be their focus for the next 20 months.
But who’s the candidate going to be? Hillary? Who knows.
But I think it’s likely that this email flap is temporary. Just another pesky distraction that the media can easily spin away (like all the other illegal activities of this administration.) And if not, well Elizabeth Warren – aka – Fauxcahontas – is waiting in the wings.
In the end, it won’t really matter. Because when it comes to the Left ~
“The ‘gender gap’ is not nearly as big as the honesty gap.”
~ Thomas Sowell
