Random links of interest, concern or curiosity from the past week or so, that deserve at least a SHORT mention:

The Tragic Transgender Contagion ~ Transgenderism is a 21st century invention. It’s totally outside the norm in all of human history and pretending otherwise is doing a woeful disservice to those conflicted individuals ~

Rather than affirming an immutable identity, our culture is ratifying and rendering permanent what often amounts to little more than a troubled youthful phase.

And in related news ~ Caitlyn Jenner’s ‘I Am Cait’ Show Now Identifies As Cancelled ~

E! is reportedly snipping Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show “I Am Cait” from its television lineup.

Louisiana flooding:
Brought to You by Climate Change? ~ Um, no. Recent studies found that…

… “the stronger storms are not getting stronger” and that there has not been any change in the seasonality of heavy rainfall events by examining trends in the magnitude, frequency, and seasonality of heavy rainfall events in the United States.

‘Cajun Navy’ answers call for volunteers ~

Baton Rouge, Louisiana (CNN)They’re out in force, patrolling in jon boats, motorboats and even canoes through south Louisiana’s new, flood-made waterways, saving cats, dogs and people.

They’re known as the “Cajun Navy,” and in recent days they’ve become possibly the nation’s most important neighborhood watch.

And all without any help from the O’Ministration. :)

When Assisted Suicide Becomes Coercive ~ Death panels? What death panels? ~

(I)n the face of high end-of-life costs, Guy Page of the Vermont Alliance for Ethical Healthcare said, “It doesn’t take a health care economist to see the shortest distance in finding ways to reduce health care costs is physician-assisted suicide.” This means that in some circumstances, the main factor in “choosing” to die could very well be more related to money than patient condition.

Peppered Moth Still Not Evolving ~ One of the Darwinians’ most cherished “proofs” for the theory of evolution has long been the example of color adaptation in peppered moths during England’s Industrial Revolution. It didn’t fly as evidence back then – and it still doesn’t.

Lifting the Ban on Human/Animal Embryos Could Undermine Human Exceptionalism ~ Brave new world… the future without God doesn’t look very promising ~

Deploying the awesome powers of biotechnology and genetic engineering as a means of “liberating” society from human exceptionalism will not “save the planet” nor FREE man from the supposed oppression of superstitious faith. Rather, it could unintentionally open the door wide to vicious tyranny.

Social Media Culture Believed to Have a Negative Effect on Youth ~ Didn’t really need a study to point this out did we?

Respondents to the University of Birmingham(UK)poll named a number of strengths they felt were left wanting in the social media world, a world that has captivated so many: “24% said forgiveness and self-control was least present, followed by honesty (21%), fairness (20%) and humility (18%).”
Negative traits parents found to be showcased via social media were anger, hostility, arrogance, ignorance, bad judgment, and hatred.

When rulers despise the ruled ~ More and more people are waking up to the widening gulf between the Western ruling class and emerging serf class (we-the-sheeple) ~

Global elites, Peggy Noonan notes, no longer seem to care about their countrymen. They’ve cashed out into a separate world, where consequences don’t apply to them, and where loyalty to other members of the global elite outweighs such petty concerns as patriotism or loyalty to one’s fellow-citizens […]

If the rulers feel neither loyalty nor empathy toward the ruled, the ruled can be expected to return the favor. The results, unless the rulers change their ways in a hurry, are unlikely to be pretty.

Reader survey: 65% would vote for Trump; 6% for Gary Johnson; 5% for Clinton; 11% will sit it out (Only 20% supported Trump during the nomination process) ~ This is from MercatorNet (traditional Judeo-Christian values/ethics). At this point I’m still holding out for a candidate-to-be-named-later. Delusional? No doubt.

Still, you never know…
The Book of Proverbs and a Winning Strategy for Candidate Trump ~ Excellent advice for The Donald! Is he humble enough to accept it? ~

“Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” (Prov. 14:29)
