Dr. Benjamin Carson is an outstanding American. Considering the man’s humble beginnings, his life and accomplishments should be a wonderful inspiration to every single one of us regardless of skin color, religion or political affiliation.

In fact, Ben Carson is such an admirable, inspiring individual that in 2011 Detroit named a public high school after the doctor. Which makes this recent news all the more stunning ~
Ben Carson’s name may be erased from high school because board member complains he’s become ‘an affront to Detroit’ since joining the Trump administration ~
‘When you align yourself with Trump, that is a direct affront to the city of Detroit and the students of Detroit,’ said board member LeMar Lemmons earlier this year.
On Tuesday (Nov. 13th), the board voted 6-1 Tto begin soliciting public opinion on the potential name change.
Ben Carson may have his name removed from a Detroit high school, after the Detroit Board of Education passed a process to rename existing schools on Tuesday.
The fact is, the city of Detroit has embraced an outlook that is the antithesis of what Dr. Carson represents; hard work, self-reliance, perseverance, Christian faith. Motown has been governed by Democrats for more than half a century. And the more the city spurns conservative values and traditional ethics like Carson’s, the less chance it ever recovers from the corruption, crime, poverty and general malaise that party has inflicted upon it.
Here’s some advice from the doctor that his hometown really should follow — but won’t. Because – Trump.
Carson says the letters of “Think Big” stand for the following:
• Honesty: If you lead a clean and honest life, you don’t put skeletons in the closet. If you put skeletons in the closet, they definitely will come back just when you don’t want to see them and ruin your life.
• Insight: It comes from people who have already gone where you’re trying to go. Learn from their triumphs and their mistakes.
• Nice: If you’re nice to people, then once they get over the suspicion of why you’re being nice, they will be nice to you.
• Knowledge: It makes you into a more valuable person. The more knowledge you have, the more people need you. It’s an interesting phenomenon, but when people need you, they pay you, so you’ll be okay in life.
• Books: They are the mechanism for obtaining knowledge, as opposed to television.
• In-Depth Learning: Learn for the sake of knowledge and understanding, rather than for the sake of impressing people or taking a test.
• God: Never get too big for Him.

Project 21 said the name-change effort, pushed by some board members, is a “purely political act which willfully ignores the accomplishments and charitable acts of the famous Detroit native who now serves as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development,” according to a news release Friday.
