The Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released its final rule changing funding regulations under the Title X family planning program, a long-awaited action expected to reduce Planned Parenthood’s federal tax subsidies by almost $60 million.
Title X is a federal grant program (enacted under Pres. Nixon) that’s dedicated to providing mainly low-income or uninsured individuals with comprehensive family planning and related preventive health services.
(The change) will require facilities providing Title X services to be physically separate from those that commit or refer for abortions. Under the previous rules, Title X services and abortions could “co-locate” in the same center, as long as the abortions were privately funded. Now, the money will be redirected to Women’s Qualified Health Centers that are not involved in abortions, which dramatically outnumber Planned Parenthood locations across the United States.

Despite the fact that the GOP platform clearly opposes federal funding for abortion, Donald J. Trump seems to be one of the very few Republicans in D.C. willing follow through on that ~

We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to children before birth.
We oppose the use of public funds to perform or promote abortion or to fund organizations, like Planned Parenthood, so long as they provide or refer for elective abortions or sell fetal body parts rather than provide healthcare.
Brace for the reaction from the radical pro-aborts. It won’t be pretty ~

Senator Rand Paul scorches GOP leaders for blocking amendment to defund Planned Parenthood ~ August 23, 2018 ~
“My amendment would end funding to Planned Parenthood. My amendment is already included in the House version,” Paul said in a video he later posted to his Twitter account. “And yet, my amendment is now being blocked by Republicans.”
Paul went on to suggest that the reason for the current situation is that Republican leadership cares more about passing a bloated spending bill than about standing up and fighting for the pro-life issues they like to “pay lip service to.”
As my colleague Chris Pandolfo reported earlier, establishment Republicans are worried that holding a vote on the amendment would derail the massive “minibus” appropriations bill currently before the Senate. That basically means that hundreds of millions of dollars going to an organization that kills over 300,000 unborn children every year is simply the price that many elected Republicans are willing to pay to avoid a government shutdown.
“The question is,” Paul said later in his speech, “what is more important to these Republicans: Saving lives or spending money?”
