The most important thing you need to know about Britain’s new P.M.

BorisJohnson

The United Kingdom’s brand-new prime minister may look like a cross between an absent-minded professor and a disheveled school boy, but Brits don’t care – as long as he gets them out of the E.U.. They voted for Brexit three years ago and now they’ve elected someone who promised to finally make it happen.

So that’s a good thing. Another is that the progressive left in the UK loathes Johnson almost as much as our leftists loathe President Trump. We regular citizens support them both because they’re nationalists who don’t kowtow to the global elitist crowd.

But the best thing about Boris is that he seems quite un-P.C. when it comes to the Religion-of-Peace; another reason the Left hates him of course ~ Guardian Offence Archaeologists Try To Rebrand Boris as Islamophobic. But it’s not Islamophobic to speak the truth ~

In an essay titled “And Then Came the Muslims,” added to the 2007 edition of his book, Johnson wrote: “There must be something about Islam that indeed helps to explain why there was no rise of the bourgeoisie, no liberal capitalism and therefore no spread of democracy in the Muslim world.

“It is extraordinary to think that under the Roman/Byzantine empire, the city of Constantinople kept the candle of learning alight for a thousand years, and that under Ottoman rule, the first printing press was not seen in Istanbul until the middle of the nineteenth century. Something caused them to be literally centuries behind.” […]

(Johnson) wrote that the inhibitor of progress was “a fatal religious conservatism” and the further the Muslim world had “fallen behind, the more bitterness and confusion there has been, to the point where virtually every global flashpoint you can think of – from Bosnia to Palestine to Iraq to Kashmir – involves some sense of Muslim grievance”.

Given his sentiments on Islam twelve years ago, it’ll be interesting to see what Mr. Johnson does about Iran’s current provocative behavior. Whatever actions he takes, it’s a sure bet that his biggest battles in the next few months will be on the home front, against the same progressive forces Trump is facing here.

Joining the EU’s “fortress Europe idea” was a mistake in the first place, and whatever trouble Mr. Johnson has in his term in office, it truly won’t be his fault. It will be the fault of the fools, years ago, who voted to give up their nation’s sovereignty in exchange for the vague promise that “things would become easier.”

Mr. Johnson has the deck stacked against him, but there is an end in sight. These predictions are so dire that if he just keeps Britain’s head above water for a couple of years, and swiftly works to replace European trade with other lanes, Mr. Johnson will look like a conquering hero.
